Marivette G. Rivera, Esq.

Founder & Principal Attorney

Professional Experience. Personal Understanding.

Marivette understands that when someone walks into a lawyer's office, the legal issue is rarely just a legal issue.

"Behind it is a person, a family, a business, an investment, or a future that needs to be protected."

As Founder and Managing Attorney of The MGR Law Firm, and with nearly two decades of legal and advocacy experience, Marivette has represented hundreds of clients and families, including parents, professionals, business owners, investors, and individuals facing some of the most consequential moments of their lives. Her practice encompasses family law, personal injury, and real estate, with an approach grounded in personal attention, thoughtful strategy, and a commitment to understanding what matters most to each client.

She is an experienced attorney licensed in Florida and Colorado, admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and trained in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law.

Experience That Shapes Her Advocacy

Before becoming an attorney, Marivette served as a Senior Probation Officer in Seminole County, working within the criminal justice system and serving on multidisciplinary task forces. She later became an Assistant Public Defender in Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit, where she represented hundreds of individuals and developed substantial courtroom and litigation experience.

In 2011, she founded The MGR Law Firm and built a practice centered on direct access, individualized attention, and strategic representation. As a business owner, parent, and someone who has personally experienced divorce, Marivette brings a grounded and empathetic perspective to her work. She understands the emotional, financial, and long-term considerations that often influence the decisions clients must make.

That experience also shaped the broader vision for The MGR Law Firm. Marivette saw firsthand how real estate, business interests, and personal injury matters can directly affect a family's financial stability and future, and how important it is to have the right legal guidance when those issues arise. This led her to expand the firm's services to include real estate and personal injury, allowing the firm to assist clients with legal matters that are often deeply intertwined with their families, livelihoods, and long-term security.

Leadership and Community

Marivette’s commitment to advocacy extends well beyond her legal practice. She has held leadership positions throughout the legal and business communities, reflecting her dedication to service, justice, equality, and the advancement of others. As the 2027 Statewide President-Elect of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, she continues to champion meaningful community engagement, professional leadership, and equal access to justice.

Her community involvement includes prior service on the boards of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and Young Fathers of Central Florida, where she contributed to initiatives supporting business development, community empowerment, and civic engagement.

Marivette has also been recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in Central Florida by Vision Magazine and as Attorney of the Year by Orlando Style Magazine.

A frequent speaker and legal commentator, Marivette has shared her insights through appearances on Univision, Telemundo, and Orange County TV. She regularly speaks at legal conferences, professional organizations, and institutions of higher education, addressing topics related to the law, advocacy, leadership, and professional development. Through her speaking engagements and community involvement, she is passionate about educating, inspiring, and empowering the next generation of legal professionals and community leaders.

A native of Manatí, Puerto Rico, Marivette earned her undergraduate degree in Administration of Justice with a Criminology Certification from Rutgers University before pursuing her legal career.

Your Matter Is More Than a Case

Whether a client is navigating a divorce, dealing with the consequences of an injury, protecting a business or investment, or handling an important real estate matter, Marivette believes legal representation should begin with understanding the person behind the case.

You are not simply a file or a case number. You have a story, a family, a livelihood, and a future.

At The MGR Law Firm, Marivette's goal is to listen, understand what is at stake, develop a strategy tailored to your circumstances, and be the voice and advocate you need when it matters most.
