Experience & Approach
Licensed to practice in Florida and Colorado, Marivette is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator with additional training in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law and Colorado Mediation. Her background includes extensive experience advising families and business owners on matters involving custody, support, relocation, prenuptial agreements, enforcement, paternity, negotiated settlements, and complex financial issues.

Marivette understands firsthand how overwhelming legal transitions can be. Having experienced divorce herself, she brings a grounded, empathetic perspective to her work and is deeply attuned to the emotional, financial, and relational concerns clients face. She is known for creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard, informed, and empowered to make sound decisions.

Through her own experience supporting aging parents and navigating the loss of a loved one, Marivette developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of clear planning and thoughtful preparation. This perspective informs her work in limited-scope estate planning and uncontested estate administration, where clarity, organization, and peace of mind are essential.
Education & Professional Background
Marivette earned her Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law, after receiving her degree in Administration of Justice with a Criminology Certification from Rutgers University. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a Senior Probation Officer in Seminole County, Florida, where she led the implementation of one of the county’s first GPS monitoring programs and served on several criminal justice task forces, including the Domestic Violence Task Force and the Sexual Offender Response Team (S.O.R.T.).

Following law school, Marivette served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County, Florida, where she represented hundreds of individuals and litigated cases at trial. This experience gave her a deep understanding of courtroom dynamics, advocacy, and the legal system—insight she now uses to guide clients strategically and thoughtfully, without unnecessary conflict.
