Experience & Approach
Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico, Marivette González Rivera brought that same relentless drive for justice to every chapter of a career that spans two decades, two states, and every side of the legal system.
A graduate of Rutgers University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice with a Criminology Certification, and Florida A&M University College of Law, where she received the Holly Marie Stutz Scholarship for outstanding academic qualifications and commitment to public interest law, Marivette built her foundation in service before she ever set foot in a courtroom.
Before founding her firm she served as a Senior High-Risk Probation Officer in Seminole County, Florida, leading complex criminal task forces, serving on the Domestic Violence Task Force and the Sexual Offender Response Team (SORT), conducting a high-risk offender pilot program, and serving as one of the first officers in the state to implement GPS monitoring to protect domestic violence victims. From her earliest days in law enforcement she understood what it meant to be the voice for those who had none.
She later served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County, Florida, representing hundreds of individuals and litigating cases at trial, continuing that same commitment to standing in the gap for others.
In 2011 she founded The MGR Law Firm, PLLC in Orlando, where for nearly two decades, she helped families navigate their most difficult transitions through divorce, custody, support, relocation, and mediation. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and trained collaborative law practitioner, she pursued every available path toward resolution, always believing that families deserved dignity, clarity, and control over their own outcomes.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, she has served a diverse community throughout her entire career.

She was a member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section Rules and Forms Committee and was a selected for the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals Leadership Institute (2025-2026).
