Experience & Approach
Licensed to practice in Florida and Colorado, Marivette is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator with additional training in interdisciplinary collaborative law and mediation.
Her practice focuses on working with mothers, fathers, and business owners navigating divorce and other family law matters, including custody, support, relocation, prenuptial agreements, and negotiated settlements. She provides practical, strategic guidance tailored to each client’s unique personal and financial circumstances.
While her current practice is centered on resolution-based approaches, her background in litigation provides valuable perspective in guiding clients through more complex matters when needed. Prior to private practice, Marivette served as a Senior Probation Officer in Seminole County, Florida, working on complex cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on matters involving domestic violence and offender supervision. She later served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County, Florida, where she represented hundreds of individuals and litigated cases at trial. This experience provides a strong foundation in advocacy and a practical understanding of the legal system that continues to inform her work today.
Marivette understands firsthand how deeply personal and overwhelming these transitions can be. As both a business owner and a parent who has experienced divorce, she brings a grounded, empathetic perspective to her work and is highly attuned to the emotional, financial, and long-term considerations her clients face.
She is known for creating a supportive environment where clients feel informed, prepared, and empowered to make thoughtful decisions for themselves, their families, and their future.
Through her experience supporting aging parents and navigating the loss of a loved one, she has developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of clear planning and thoughtful preparation. This perspective also informs her work in estate planning and administration, where clarity, organization, and peace of mind are essential.
